80年代初的重庆，长江边一条起伏的小巷——望龙巷深处，有一座老宅小院，小院的主人向伯涛，是三四十年代朝天门的工商业主，与儿孙四代人就居住在这里。五六十年代后，这座小院里陆续搬来了若干家“阶级成份好”的人家与原来的主人向伯涛一家为邻。然而习惯上，望龙巷的人们仍将这府小院称为“向家小院”。。讲述两个30多岁、有自毁倾向的美国人Mickey和Chloe住在雅典，发展出了海啸般的恋爱：Chloe在希腊的时光本已到了尾声，她该回到美国继续自己有远大前程的工作，但她决定放弃，想要探索一个周末的热情是否会随着不可避免的周一到来而消退。。Val (Jerrod Carmichael) has reached a place where he feels the only way out is to end things.
