故事发生在东北某山村。妇女主任张西凤在镇上开完会，回村便看到村里早已乱了套，原来是在外承包工程的平太明回到村里，招男劳动力进城给他打工。张西凤为稳住村民的心，拿出了从上级手中千方百计争取来的致富项目，可大家不相信一个女人能有什么作为。连他丈夫景才也坚决反对，执意跟着平太明进了城。青壮年男性进城干建筑，村里剩下老弱妇幼，这下真成了女人的村庄，但张西凤并不气馁，她带领留守妇女开展生态养猪项目，不久初见成效，广大妇女靠养猪赚了大把的钱。城里的男人们从结伴探亲的媳妇身上看到了家乡的变化，他们动摇了继续留在城里的决心......。What happens after the world ends?
