抗日战争时期，蒋介石特使周士航（崔明普 饰）刚到84军，就被刘子翁（李檀 饰）派出的杀手击伤。因叛徒出卖，地下党员梅淑英（桂萍 饰）被捕，敌阵中她慷慨陈词，后被劫出，逃跑中跳崔。第二天深夜，军部副官宋克森（赵建文 饰）、军长王朝宗（杜雨露 饰）的外甥女丁丽芸各怀目的，寻找跳崔的梅淑英，后梅被丁藏于庵内。熊国祥（鲍海鸣 饰）利用陪军长夫人进香之机，夜盗密令逃逸，王朝宗闻听大怒，亲率卫队追赶，途中遭袭。熊国祥原形毕露，参谋长拨枪对准王朝宗。僵持下，押梅淑英前去机场，不料遭伏兵袭击，梅不幸殉难，王朝宗面临此景，追悔莫及，愧疚难当，宋克森抱着梅的尸体缓缓走向自己的军长......。SYNOPSIS Urgently called, the police inspector has arrived in a hotel, and didn't find any crime, but noticed some strangenesses occurring there. (Strugatsky Brothers website) NOTES This is a crime / mystery thriller with surreal and psychedelic science fiction overtones based on a book Inspector Glebsky's Puzzle by the Strugatsky brothers. The screenplay was also written by the brothers and it differs from the book. The less you know about the movie the better starting point you have. The film is based largely on the mystery of what's happening to the people of Dead Mountaineer's Hotel. Is everything what it seems? Who's dead or who's not?。
